Hi guys, I went to Winton on the 1st of April and managed the best time of 1.43.5.
The car is running well and didnt have any reliability issues.
I think there's another couple of seconds in the car when I get some more practice.
I have several gopro videos but I am having issues loading them on my old iMac.
When I work out what the problem is I will post it on YouTube.
Cheers, Danny

Hi Guys, here is a link to youtube of my first session.
Unfortunately the battery went flat after 1hr and i didn't get anymore footage all day. My fastest laps were late in the afternoon and were around 143.5.
Early in the day i was in third gear around the sweeper which was very slow. We made some changes and i was back into fourth with a much faster entry speed.
I changed the front ride height to get some clearance and adjusted the rear shocks which got it back to what it was like before we changed the struts.

Next time out it will have the inner guards done and some different rear leaves to get the ride height and camber done correctly.

Cheers, Danny

Hi to all, just thought i would mention I'm going to Winton on the 27th and 28th of November.
Friday practice then winton sprint day on the Saturday.
I have been busy making some changes such as firmer front springs and some changes to the rear ride height.
Also some modifications to the inner guards as i cut up the front left tyre from the lack of clearance.
I have had the header pipes coated as they were starting to rust up pretty badly.
I also stripped a bit of weight from the car by rebuilding the dash with a whole lot less steel.
I have purchased some z32 alloy front callipers but i won't have them ready in time.
As i mentioned i had some issues with the battery life on the go pro so i hard wired the unit so it can film all day long.
No mods have been done to the engine but i have fitted a scavenger pump to the gearbox to pick up any oil in the extension housing and redirect it
to the front of the box where its needed.
I think i fixed the slipping clutch issue as the car had a loose master clevis pin. It wound its self out a bit therefore not fully disengaging.
If this weekend works out ok i will fix a few more small issues then try and run the full 5 rounds of the Winton Season next year.

Further plans when i return from this weekend are
1/ Brake calliper change
2/ major weight reduction as the car weight is still around 925kg with 1/2 tank of fuel.
3/ maybe a diff ratio change

Cheers,

Danny

Hi Guys, here is a video of the 2nd session from the Saturday sprint.
I had a good day out with some of the sessions having up to 15 cars on the track.
I posted a time about the same as last time as i was having an understeering issue.
The new springs seemed to work on the high speed parts of the track but turn in on the slower corners were an issue at times.
I had a Great time with the red gemini as we seemed to be pretty even during the day.

Cheers, Danny

Hi Guys, I went to winton for the second round of the no bull sprints series on the 10th of April. I placed sixth in my
class and managed to record a 1.41.30 for my flying lap and 1.44.01 for my standing start lap.
It was great to see two datsun 1600's on the weekend and we traded lap times all day.
The next round is in June so I will be spending some time removing body mud from the tunnel and floor to strip some more kg.
Im looking for a fibreglass replacement bonnet if anyone has one in stock. Any other suggestions on weight or anything else would be appreciated.

I will post some pictures and a new youtube video soon.
Cheers,

Danny

The Flying 120Y!

Danny, What is the thing in the last photo? Is that a photo of the gearbox?

It's a scavenger pump connected from the extension housing to the gearset up the front of the box.
The extension housing has been modified with a baffle to stop the sloshing and to feed the pump.
It's been great and all I need to do is turn on the pump after the laps to return it to the front of the box.
