Well I cant win
1st rear drums sized up while at the shop about to be dyno'd- 2 new wheel cylinders and 4 new shoes
fixed that then master cylinder blew out while bleeding system - new master cylinder
fixed that then found one of the rear drum adjusters was seized - only thing adjuster is the only part I cant source new (bugger :x )
So brakes work but have massive pedal travel (till I source another adjuster)
Finally got thrown on the dyno made 210hp atw and was leanin out on 10psi :?:
found out that one of the bolts on the alternator holding one of the wires wasnt done up properly making it lean out at high rpm :o oops!
then they turned up the boost and the intercooler pipework on the throttle-body side under the front drivers side guard kept blowing off and after a lot of deliberation it was deemed the pipe (being polished stainless) needs to be re-fabricated
so hopefully after this is redone all will be fine
fingers crossed

Made it home from my maiden voyage in the ute
Made 305 hp atw on 16 psi on a really safe tune
Feels really quick but won't be able to test it till the rear brakes are fixed
Also the air filter on it is too small and restricting the power output by 15 hp
Should fix that as soon as I can
Also the steering box feels like it has a bit too much play in it once these are sorted I can test out the phantom grip LSD :D

I'm sure pushing out a figure like 305 HP, 15 HP loss from an air filter isn't going to be a big concern haha.

I know what it's like driving a car with worn drum adjusters... had to do it in an E30 BMW once in the wet with sh*t tyres... I've never been scared in a car before until this...

Other than that. Keep up the good work, it's impressive.

yer very scary in peak hour traffic
just finished off o few little things like number plate light
put the steering wheel on straight
fixed the brakes
Now I need to sort out this steering box as there is a bit of play in it with the grub screw wound all the way in.
I havent the slightest idea about how to fix it- or is this just how life was before rack n pinion or power steering??
What other possibilities are there that could be causing this if not the steering box??

After 2 weeks in a steering shop the ute is almost back to tip top shape. Steering box has been taken out and rebuilt.the guy who rebuilt it said the shaft shad been put back in off centre so I should regain a bit of angle on full lock. Also as it had absolutely nothing set right in the caster and camber so things should feel much better whilst driving. Cant wait. Lastly I need to find out why one of the rear brakes keeps locking up pretty sure it has something to do with the handbrake

It has standard front disks and rear drums. Been looking at upgrades but not a lot of options. Decided to overhaul the brakes but something in the rear drums is still sus n I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the handbrake. It is light as and pulls up pretty good with the standard brakes which aren't working properly so I figured if I fixed em goood should be ok

I have been looking for a front brake upgrade as my ute already has disk brakes on the front but all the upgrades are for the utes with drums in the front. Can someone point me in the right direction for a calliper and rotor upgrade?

Weighed the ute today 1050 kg" with a full tank of fuel.
I am going to source some tyres this week and off to willowbank next Wednesday night for test n tune will be interesting to see how fast it is on the strip. Hopefully faster than my last car r31 wagon rb30et with 359hp atw ran a 12.67 @ 114 mph
