Drove it to work today (on a permit) for a bit of a shakedown, gearbox is a bit whiny, think it needs some more oil. Defienitely needs a wheel alignment as it was wandering all over the shop at 100kph.

The gears are frustrating on the dogleg, keeps going into 4th and 5th instead of 2nd and 3rd.

Stutters off the line, like you have to load up the revs about 2 seconds before you want to take off so it doesnt splutter. Think the accelerator pump on the carb isnt doing its job but hopefully the SUs will fix that.

Heater unit is officially shagged with the tap leaking and the core stuffed, am bringing in second unit to see if its any better or if they can re-use bits off it.

I'd fit the carbies after rego. I'm currently trying to register a car and they're having a hissy-fit abpout emissions, so tread carefully!

Filled the gearbox up properly, tried to fix the horn but still doesnt work properly, fitted new parker/indicator to the front bar.

Pulled the dash apart (again) to fit the heater only to:

a) snap a bit of plastic control arm on the heater unit
b) discover the 3m of heater hose i bought is the wrong size.

awesome.

So its been pretty much 2 months since Ive done anything on the car. Spent a bit of time last night putting the heater controls back in, wiring things up and putting the cluster lid back on.

Fingers crossed the LEDs i put in the guage cluster work and ive wired everything up right :?

Struggling to find time/motivation for it, even when it is 98% done :(

also got these to try on after it passes rego.

So ive put the dash back together (got it right on the 4th attempt)

ive screwed up the LED bulbs so half my cluster is white and half is yellow (old globe) cant be arsed pulling it out to change it again though.

So now its just the reverse lights to sort out.

Hahaha lol I hate it when that happens.

you have to make sure they go in the right way otherwise they wont light up.

what I usually do is put them in and just before I put the dash back in I hook it up and turn the lights on, that way you can see which ones you've missed or need to replace with LEDs, once sorted I wack it back in and bobs your uncle!

Does the dash look much brighter tho?

Neg I took the caps off, attached is lame pic i took on the cam phone.

The diff between the LED on the right and the globe on the left is obvious.

Can you read the one with the LED light in it?

Because I can't.
