Have been invited by Rally Australia who are running the next round of the World Rally Championship to run my 710 Violet each day of the rally on the Super Special Stage in Coffs Harbour. Effectively doing demonstration runs. Should be a real hoot.

The Citroen and Ford works mechanics were certainly interested in the LZ engine. Asked lots of questions. One of the Ford mechanics father use to race Datsuns in NZ.

Doing the Super Special Stage at the World Rally Championship event in Coffs Harbour was truly amazing on many fronts. Best of all was when the LZ rally cams hit their sweet spot, the first time I had given the old girl a work out. However the motor is now smokey so a little surgery is required. Taking the 710 to the Grand Prix last week certainly burnt a few litres of Castrol's finest however it was worth it to promote the Historic Rally Association based in Melbourne. Will keep you posted on what the surgeon advisors on the smokey LZ.

Hey guys, just received a new piece of kit. LZ20BT nissan works engine out of the Tomica Skyline.
425kw. or 570HP. Wont go into the 710 violet, maybe the Stanza will be turned into a nice little road cruise machine.

Here is link for those who may not remember the Tomica skyline.

Here is the latest on the LZ build from Les Collins Racing.

http://lescollinsracing.com/engine/proj ... z20b-rally

If Link is not working above you can find it at www.lescollinsracing.com and go to the engine projects tab.

We were impressed with the 241BHP at 7500RPM.

Looks great Neil

Les does an amazing job.
241 hp at 7500 is really good. What torque did it make? around 170 ftlbs?

It's a nice ornament in the engine shop
Sounded great on the engine dyno too!

I was fortunate enough to see this beast of an engine and the 710 at Les Collins. Wish I could hear it in the flesh.

The old girl is just about finished ready for display at Motorclassica in Melbourne next month.
Rauno Aaltonen will also be there so I am hoping for many photo opportunities.

Your car was definitely my favourite on the day; I took so many pictures of it I think I permanently broke by iCloud account ..... especially loved the LZ engine and your overall authentic presentation of an awesome car!

Congratulations on the award, too!
