Thanks Baz, will be in touch in the next few weeks.

I assume these are suitable for 240K as well (which is what I'm actually after)? The DBA catalogue shows the same part number for early 240K, 200B and stanza (DBA315) - all 253mm X 12.7mm ?

RWC'd last Tuesday and running around like a champ :) Out to the airport Friday just past, shopping tonight and we are dropping the other car off for its 100k service on Sat so this will be the car for the weekend. Really enjoying it so far and it does take me back a few years. Heater and demister will need to be seen to and I'm on the lookup for a 5 speed as the 4 speed, while functional, is not really enjoyable over 90k's an hour. Would also like to lower it and get some better breathing sorted out for it too but I need to remember that I shouldn't spend too much on it now, do it later when it gets proper lovin. Its hard though as modding is fun...

belted around all weekend in the datto and tonight tragedy!

[ img ]

Coming along Kings way over the river down hill to Flinders St and it started to stall and then stalled. Couldn't get it roll started as I coasted to a stop. Would sort of crank but not. Called a towie and within 45 mins I was back home with the car in the garage. Positive towing experience - would get towed again A++++++.

I had changed the oil earlier on (20W50 and a Ryco filter) and maybe put 4.6 instead of 4.3 litres of oil in but I doubt that that would be the problem. It cranks maybe a 1/4 - 1/2 a crank and thats about all. Headlights and interior lights are strong and there is no visible leakage of fluids, all smells normal too. In neutral I can spin the fan around so the engine turns over. Ideas? Will attempt to jump it with the other car to see if the battery has shat itself but as a new battery was put in a couple of weeks ago I don't think thats the problem.

cheers

Get the battery and crocodile clips, clip the positive onto the starter motor and the negative on the engine somewhere. Try starting now.
If it starts, Check the earthing from the battery, the stanzas use one battery lead from the battery to the engine for earthing, and it has a cut in it which bolts it into the battery tray, this can fray over time. (The same thing happened to me) I just made up some cables and had one going from the battery to the battery tray then one from the tray to the engine. hope this helps

Any luck mate?

By the way, I think it's hilarious that you gave the towing a rating & comment. "would get towed again" ahah! Very classy.

It's great to see the stanza on the road again, it must make you soooo happy.

Went and got the work mobile out of the other car and tried starting the datto. Started up and ran. turned it off and it refused to crank like last night....
