I have a ported manifold with a two year old 32/36 on it you'll need to up the jets as I was tuning by exhaust and went pretty small before I realised a compression test was in order... I can reccomend what jet sizes you'll need I just don't own any anymore after doing a turbo set up on a mates gemini for him.

I haven't given much thought to tuning yet. The carby I have is already on a l-series manifold so maybe it will have the correct jets already.

Agh I thought you were looking for a 32/36 sorry. Pull the jets out in the mains you'll want 155/160 and 55/60 idle jets 175 air correctors from memory, if they're close to these numbers you'll be alright.

Roadworthy, registered and insured.

After driving around for a while she didn't really want to idle and was stalling between downshifts. So I decided the only logical thing to do was 'heel and toe' my way up to point glorious and then take the long way home from there.

The maiden voyage:

When I got home I turned up the idle speed a bit and she now seems a lot less stally. I think it will run better when I get the webber on there.

I have heard of a trick where you rev the engine and then block the intake with a handfull of rag and this sucks all the crap out of the carb. I am thinking this might be a good temporary fix untill I get the weber on there as I don't want to put any time/money into this carby when I am just going to change it in a couple weeks. Is this advisable?

Cheers. I will update when I get more money and therefore more stuff done.

So I am in the process of putting the weber on now. I shall update soon with the results.

I will give it a good tidy up once I make sure it all works properly.

Also I have a set of rear shocks on order, I'll soon have new Monroes and new Nankangs all round.

Cheers.

The weber is up and running. It still needs a tune up but is a big improvement so far. It sounds awesome to, worth it just for that.

Did a compression test today and got 128, 120, 122 and 118.

It's a bit low but at least all the cylinders are fairly similar. I added some Nulon worn engine treatment to the oil, dunno if it makes any difference.

Cheers

If it doesn't already - get yourself an electronic ignition off a bluebird - and replace all the metal connectors that feed power into the dizzy / coil / ignition system.

You will be blown away by the difference it makes!
