Hey guys, after owning a couple of stanzas back in ~2003 as paddock bombs i'd always been itching to get another one.... and have now finally done so! Shes a bit rough body wise and i dare say needs a good tune up (only got it yesterday) But should be a bit of fun. Plans are to fix rust and get it running sweet and club reg it. Lower it sensibly, lock diff, Early model front and rear lights (and bumpers if i can ever track some down) maybe an exhaust and that should keep me happy for a bit... Ive got a 270kw r32 in the shed to be silly with :P

Basics are - Square light Datsun stanza
L18
5 speed SSS box
twin carbs
Moderate amount of rust
Tidy interior

Know pretty much nothing about stanzas as far as upgrades etc go so have been reading away here but i'll probably use this as a place to ask some silly questions too... eg..

1. I wanna get some filters for my hitachis.... will something like these work?

http://www.ebay.com.au/.../RAMFLO-1-50- ... 1350996768...

If not... where can i find something similar?

2. Is there any suspension from another car that bolts in as an upgrade (aka chopped falcon springs in ke70s)... gunna put s13 springs in the back... but what about the front..?

Anyway... PICTURES!

I've already got some s13 kings kicking around that should do nicely. There's a few different hilux callipers yeah? And do they bolt on or do I need different discs too?

Yeah it was on eBay but I don't think its a real sss... Was happy with what I got it for.. Swapped it for a 31 wagon.

Drove it last night and it seems down on power.. Will have a look at timing today and attempt to learn about setting up the carbys..

I was looking at the dizzy and wondering if its standard or not... good to know! Had a bit of a play with the carbs today... think i got it better... but the adjustment screw to make them both operate even had snapped so i wound them both out... has a bit of play but both go at the same time now. They're damn fiddly! Bit hard to road test with no reg though.

Bought some new plugs too. Got some 16s off a mate to try on but sadly they wont fit without a spacer. Been raining too but will start on the rust rapir in the coming weeks then club reg time!
