Posting a few pics of my Stanza Coupe rebuild.

Bought off this website from Victoria in 2006...saw some pics... was told it was a genuine old granny car...found in a garage from a deceased estate.

84k on the clock.

Engine upgrade to SWR built 2 ltr
Skyline gearbox
Upgraded front struts/brakes
Body back to metal...found a few previous repairs...done badly...new paint...

Thought the Diff was OK till it got on the dyno...was told it will blow...soon.

Still waiting on a new diff...have Silvia disc brake housing and new LSD centre.

Cheers - troy

The round headlights make the Stanza look like a 180b...so square eyes for me.

Granny datto came with sticker as below...decided to keep it.

It's good seeing you doing things like changing the front end. Most of the Stanza coupés on here seem to be restored to original. I actually saw a multi-coloured Stanza coupé with a square headlight front driving around the eastern suburbs of Melbourne years ago and thought it looked really cool. No idea what happened to it, haven't seen it or heard of it since.

Thanks Greenie, thought about the "Totally Standard" rebuild...but they drive horribly...have no power...and look old and daggy with the round headlights...

Plus I have had a few square headlight stanzas and love the look...plus I have a 180b that has the old round headlight option.

cheers - troy

You're welcome, you've impressed one person on here at least! Feel free to throw some more photos up. Will you continue to run the Simmons?

Probably keep the Simmons...I have a few options...but they all have to be over the 15" because of the front discs...I have some 17'sx8" that came with the 260z...big Chrome jobbies...big spacers...not a fan of running spacers...even though they are used on Porsche race cars etc.
Might not fit either...so keeping the Simmons...will need new tyres...hate to think of the cost...

Not really...all headlights/blinkers are now working...stereo is going in...still waiting on Diff which seems to have blown on the dyno...now making funky clunking noises when going in and out of the shed...been pretty slack on the Datto front...

Have been rebuilding a Honda VFR400rr....

Very nice car. Glad to see whilst not keeping it dead stock your not chopping it up for mods. Little entirely reversible stuff is cool. Looks like a genuine grandma's car to.

It's been a while since I have been on Ozdat but glad I have as spotted your Stanza build. I like the white as haven't seen too many others around. Hopefully you have it out there soon. Not too much about the old and daggy round headlights as that is what mine has.. Hopefully getting down to Datsun Day in Sydney in November so you'll have to get it going for then cheers

Does look a lot better with the square headlights. I have seen a Couple of coupes in person and disliked them. But yours looks a lot tougher.

Any updates on it?

Thanks....I am a square headlight fan...this is the first one I have changed over though...
No pic updates...sorry...in the process of a diff rebuild...Silvia disc brake housing new 3.7 LSD centre...doing the calipers at the moment.

Once the diff is done I can at least drive it safely...small bit of paint work needs doing then its off for blueslip...in no hurry though...have a few cars rego'd and another is not very cost effective.

I feel your pain. Its hard to get much progress when they all need stuff.
