It was my Birthday yesterday and so I treated myself to something I wanted (needed) for my next project.

Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 'Star Spec' 205/50R16 X 4

They're going on the old 240C coupe that's getting closer to completion now.

They look VERY NICE!

I believe they are very good tyres. I can't wait!

Cheers

Yes, that would have been me......visiting my mum.

You should've tried getting my attention. (Tooting horns and waving arms would've done it :giggle: ) and I could've helped you find your way........

I'm assuming you had something on that trailer worth towing?

Next time buddy

Oh and I put those tyres on some S14 rims donated by my good old friend Dave who had them on his old 230 260C 4 door.

At least I know these wheels fit without spacers......and for the track I think that's important.

I like the idea of drags, practise days and super sprints. God I'm glad I live so close to where the action is!! :woohoo:

I'm trying to get the coupe ready for the next Eastern Creek practise day

Bought these wheels for the coupe....Ford rims 16X7.....with 215/60/16 Dunlop 200E rubber.

Took the Y34 wheels off and put these on. It kinda makes sense to run these 'big' wheels on the cruiser...the ride is a LOT smoother over the bumps. A lot less thrashy and the engine noise is reduced at any speed too. They're big wheels.....almost 45km/h per 1000rpm in O/D. My engine handles it nicely since I built it with torque in mind. The 215 bit means the car handles pretty good with plenty of grip and the tyres don't scrub on the wheel arches at all. (I hate that and would take them off if they did).

Just muckin around!

Cheers :cheers

Ah can't recall the actual model of Ford these wheels are from, something quite current, look on ebay at the Ford rims and they might come up. Or on the streets around your place!!

Direct bolt on?....no they're not on the front. :(

The reason: the wheel bearing hubs on the 330 are too big/wide for the 'centre' of the Ford wheels.

The solution: Wheel spacers. Mine are 20mm thick and got them at Otomoto in Parramatta. Problem solved.

Yeah, The old Ford rims do fit, but 12 slotters etc / 14 inch Ford stuff doesn't do it for me anymore.

So many wheels out there nowadays, I thought I would try something different on the old boy and the spacers work fine!.

I like my y34 Cedric wheels the best but I'm gonna use them on the old 230 when I'm not using the 'race' rubber on it.

You have two really nice cars there. Love the silver on the coupe. I am starting to regret painting mine white I might have to pick up a coupe or wagon and pick a better colour.

A long time since I posted here, so here is an update.

The N42/N42 L28 combo is being replaced with an L26, a P30/Y70 combo with 10.1 comp ratio and a stage two MSA/Schneider turbo grind on a new billet camshaft.

A new mechanical secondary 390 cfm four barrel Holley will be used on this engine. Other than that, it's pretty much the same setup as before.

The pic is of the L28 about to be removed. No hurry since I'm just waiting for a new special balancer bolt from the US. In the meantime, I'll just do a bit of detailing. :)
