Well I went to fit my rear sedan swaybar AT LAST tonight, bolted it up onto the diff housing and realised that with a car that is lowered ~100mm, it simply will not fit. Spewing! I thought I would just weld up some brackets and call it a day.

Man is the wagon a time machine too? Where the hell is that shop? 1979?
That pic is priceless.

I think mark had the same prob with his swaybar in the coupe, maybe he can chime in with a fix?

Well yeah pretty much got all the internal stuff for the L28, so once I've got that damn Torana motor back together, you can expect some news there.

Bought a kinda rusty welded 3.9:1 H190 Diff Centre off Green200B. It was set up nicely but the welding job left something to be desired and that isn't really something I am interested in having on this car (for the moment at least), the bearings were also in poor shape.

Pulled it down using my custom pinion nut tool, used this a few times :)

Turned up a solid spacer to replace the springy sheet metal crush tube. Finished with about .002" preload on the pinion bearings.

Linished all the rough edges of everything before giving it a quick coat of KBS gloss black paint.

So I kept the gearset with the housing, but the open carrier came from the car. It was a bit low on pre-load but not too bad. Also a little far to the left (.013" of Backlash) but not too bad so I just put it together. Seems okay (done like 500km with no issues), does make a little whine on overrun, but no noise when on power or coasting, and the backlash isn't really noticeable either - the differential planetary gearset in the carrier was very nice and tight.

Nice work!
Hows the take off from standstill? any harder on the clutch?
Im considering putting a hilux diff in to get the ratio as the only 3.9 i know of in nz is in my mates car and thats a runner.

Now you just have to find the 4 speed box. I found some rocking horse sh*t a while back, maybe i can trade it for a box.
