Great work Mark. Looks like a fun package to play around with! Bet you gave a few of the more modern cars a bit of a hurry up.

Thank you!

I had a practise day last Friday. First time on the track with the new head, had a great run with a HX ute, 308 powered, 4 speed. We both pulled onto Brabham straight together, I washed wide because of a leaking front drivers tyre and we found each other at the top of the straight with nothing left to do but have an impromptu drag race. He was shaking his head, (egging me on) and I knew it was ON.

I winded 3rd to 6.5 and grabbed fourth, took a look at him and we were still door to door, so close. I stayed on it and as I was about to grab 5th, I'd pulled 1/2 a car ahead, I was looking at the front grille of his car this time. Turn one was coming up fast so I backed down to let him back on line and I knew my car wasn't turning properly, so I backed down even more.

At the end of that session I formally met Pete, the owner of that ute. Up until Friday, I was a 'slower' car and meh, so what. Friday, he was searching under my bonnet for answers. "What the hell have you done to that?" We had a good chat and that was that.

The tyre ended up having a screw in it, causing the leak. Didn't stop me but. A mate just happened to turn up, a mechanic, with his service truck and fixed me tyre on the spot. Pumped it up for me too. What a legend. Thanks Johno!!

Fuckin lovin this stuff. Can you tell?

Cheers.

Now here is a car that needs to be re-released as a retro replica!

Locally here in Japan (arrived in Okinawa last night) I cant believe how Toyota X based Cressida/Cedric sized cars has blown away Nissan in the looks department, Nissan really needs to go back to the past like some American companies have. Nissan needs to look for Inspiration like from this build right here!

Some new pipes but they don't fit.
I should have expected that, they're for a 240Z chassis! Still, they're not far off and will be modified to fit properly. Compared to the 'headers' I've just removed from my car and how much power I was making with them, I can't wait to try out these new bad boys!!!

I love your clash of old and new school on this car - awesome build

The latest dyno run at Unique Autosports in Seven Hills, Sydney.

I've very recently been wanting a set of ceramic coated headers for my engine. I'm close to getting a set to fit but they're not ready yet, sadly.

Having said that, I'm stoked with the power output from the old L28. I can't wait to see what effect the new headers have over the generic style that I'm using atm.

....and 300Hp in a 1390kgs car equals 14.9sec/153km/h quarter mile!

That was fun.
