Na i dont think it is that elaborate, but it is a L28 F54 block and P90 head,
It is apparently build by a local, now defunct Z/Datto specialist. Based on this Im also hoping it has flat tops or ill have very low comp

It also has these hanging on the other side.... im not a fan of the pod filters at all so they will be gettin tossed for some trumpets and speedway style socks.

As you wish my friend............

So far ive only been able to spend a few hours on weekends working on the wagon as family and work seem to take up most of my time these days.(who"s idea was it to start another project now)? Anyways hours with a sander and 80 grit has resulted in all the paint being removed from the bonnet, doors, rear quarters, tailgate and guards.
These were then covered in 4 coats of 3m hifill.

Next, underside of the bonnet, inside of the tailgate and opening, inside fuel filler well, inside of the doors and radiator support were sanded, primed and painted in the factory polar white.

This leaves the only the roof, door/window frames, cowl cover and A pillars to be stripped
and primed............ then i can start on the engine bay

So friday as 1 of those days where all the planets and stars aligned perfectly to create
a rare moment in time where there is nothing to do all weekend but indulge in your favorate passtime, what ever it may be, so i raced home from work and out to the garage for some S and M (spraying and masking)......................

5 minutes in and the plastic backing i was using to hold sandpaper on my grinder exploded
and took out the back of my left hand. There goes my weekend, **** to say the least..................

Fortunately its only a flesh wound with no damage to anything vital, bit sore and will prolly slow me down for a week and damn it scared the crap outa me.............

As you were.

Hey guys, i figure ive done enough for a bit of an update..........

With my hand taking 4 weeks to heal due to "an aggressive, antibiotic resistant, infection"
and all of lifes other commitments it was mid july by the time i got back into the garage for some playtime but ive finally managed to strip the roof back to bare metal and get it in primer/hi fill, strip/clean and paint the engine bay and brackets, booster, lines ETC..... prep/paint the window and door frames and remove the head off the L28 motor.(more on that soon.)....

Roof in primer.......

Door frames in black.......
[ img ]

Enginebay before stripping and cleaning.........
[ img ]

Enginebay after strip and clean........
[ img ]

All painted up.....

Mark,(ozconnection) was kind enough to come over on a freezing friday night and reassemble my enginebay for me, THANKS MATE :hail:
[ img ]

While i was ripping the old auto box off the L28 i noticed it only turned about 350deg???
so i pulled the sparkplugs hoping for a miracle only to find cyls 3 and 5 full of water  so while mrk was here we lifted the head off for a closer inspection, it wasnt good with heavy pitting and rust in both cyls, add rebuild to the list of things to do.

Always glad to lend a hand Dave!! :D

Need some help with the wet rub? Text me when you've got some spare time and I'll try and be there!

That L28 wasn't stored correctly at all. Shame, it has all the right bits to be a solid mill. I'm sure you'll sort something out.

See you real soon. Keep up the great work mate.

:cheers

YIKES, only 5 weeks till the SDC show and shine........And with only 1 day a week to work
on the wagon its really 5 working days

Ive spent the last 8 weeks wet sanding the body with 800 and can finally say its ready for
paint, which i wanted to apply this long weekend but the weather isnt playing. Ive also dropped the motor and box back into the bay and begun reassembly with some help from my local cedric guru.

This man is not a dentist, but i still cant show you his face

But this is some of his handy work
