Says the guy that blew past me on gate and scared the crap outta me on the nav run

So with some concern, i took up Marks challenge to a race at WSID the other week.
We rolled through inspection with no worries other than a few sniggers and curious gazes and got in the queue, the conversation turned to who would cross the line before next Thursday with the consensus being, id get the jump being a manual and his sedan would run me down last half track, at the tree i waited for the green and rolled off the clutch and got the jump on Mark, into 2nd still held him off, then halfway through 3rd i swore loudly as he walked passed me into 4th with him running a 17.1 to my 17.3.
Unsure of if id given it all it had, and with some 'prompting' for Mark we lined up for another go, this time i dialed up some rpm side stepped the clutch and waited for the diff to explode, this didnt happen, and soon i was 60ft away from the lights and on redline so i pulled 2nd with a ripping chirp and with no gears on the track i held it to redline again, another chirp into 3rd (poor old thing ) and still no sign of that pesky sedan i swear i pushed a dent in the firewall urging the revs to keep climbing, into 4th and waited for Mark to pass again, this didnt happen either, and you should have seen the crash crew laugh at me as i punched air and patted the dash over the line, this run got me a 16.9 to Marks 17.1 Yay, not wanting to push my luck ( or give mark fair chance to beat me again) we called it quits.
Now where is that 2jz i saw laying around?

We had soooo much fun that night.

I wasn't too surprised that Dave had the quicker car on the night. Well done bro. What surprised me was my 330, with the new L26 was faster over the quarter than his car and even my own coupe, with an expensive L28 and 5 speed manual!!

And it was done with only first and second and just a flick of 3rd. It does have a 2.5K high stall but it sliiiiiides into second and third.
