G'day. This is my first time posting on here, I've just recently purchased a 71' Datsun 240C GL on Christmas Eve last year. Having said that I'm rather fresh to the Datto scene.. My 240C has a 3sp automatic which has certainly seen better days, so I would like to do a manual conversion in it, I was wondering what the best way to go about it would be for an L24 and also any help with finding parts, like anything and everything would be highly appreciated.
Also, here are some pictures:

Welcome to Ozdat with that beautiful car!!

Have you worked on Datsuns much before? Converting these cars to manual isn't hard. You could easily knock this conversion over in a weekend by yourself or a day with a friend helping out.

Mechanical parts are, generally, fairly easy to find. Body parts and trim etc, are harder, depends on what you're looking for. From your piccy's, I cant see much that needs replacing. Spares maybe?

Where are you located?

Great cars, a real head turner as they're quite rare and people just don't know what they are. I love that. Good that you found us on here!

Cheers mate. :cheers

hey mate, I honestly haven't worked on too many cars.. figured this would be a great way to start out. I'm only 19 years old and just haven't had the chance really, so I'm kind of not that knowledgeable.. yet.. ;)
I inherited an 82' 720 pick-up mid last year, made me fall in love with Datsuns.
The interior needs a good bit of work, the badges on the back are missing along with the trim from the boot, other than one spot of rust it's fine externally. also I live in Crows Nest QLD.. Drove it home from brisbane, it certainly turns heads. (which was damn cool)

Nice car! As far as the stick swap its likely as easy as it gets. Never had a cedric but had a 510, a couple z cars, 2 s14s, an s13 convertible, and some pickups. All you need is pedals and a trans in most cases. Heck, i converted my oldsmobile to stick in two weekends and i had to fabricate everything, as the GM b body hasnt been available in a stickshift since the 2nd generation (1972). My car is a 1992.

Great looking car!

The conversion is easy, look for a 5 speed 280ZX gearbox.

Oh my that is sexy. Good colour, needs to come down a bit closer to the ground though!

Welcome to the forum, a manual conversion and a bay clean-up and that'll be up there with the nicest Cedric coupes in Australia
