I purchased the car a few months ago off a fellow Zed club member for quite a reasonable price.
At this stage I just want to get it running & on the road ASAP.

Stage 1 build will consist of fixing the small amount of rust it has, giving it a quick respray in the original colour &
refitting the original L26. And conver it from auto to manual (easy).
Stock suspension & brakes for the time being.
Though I do have some nice rims for it already...:

The Zed club is heading down to Tassie in Feb so I want it ready for that.

Once it's on the road & after I clear some other projects out of the way,
Stage 2 will begin for-which I have some serious plans... :twisted:

I'm doing atm what every Datsun owner does at some point - fixing rust.
The PS door skin is pretty cactus but the car came with a new genuine Nissan door skin,
so I've split the door, repaired the bit of rust in the frame & I'm fitting the new door skin after I've painted the inside of it all.

Nice !!

What year is it ?

Factory R200 ?

What rims / what size ? Rota's ?

What's the blue truck ?

My only real zed experience was in one just like it. My brother owned a '76 model, was an auto that we converted to manual, it was a beautiful :? light green metallic colour with white interior and real wire wheels.

If that's small, I'd love to see the big shed :lol:

WTF!!!

Judging by the brick and the other wheel behind it I'd say... No.

I guess that out your way there must be a few small sheds bigger than your large shed too. My wife doesn't get my theory on sheds. They should be at least two times the size of the house. Why doesn't she understand that?

So Lurch, educate me.... what is an RS30 as opposed to a standard zed?

Haha! Good thing too, what with your dislike of 200Bs, and by the looks of things they were 200B SX wheels :lol:

Cheers guys :D

Dave, it's a '74 so basicly it's an updated 240Z shell/chassis.

Factory R200 3.36(!) ratio - I havn't had the back of the diff off to check,
but going by the speedo drive cog that's what it is... :o
I have a 3.54 R200 that I'll swap in as the 3.36 will be too tall with the 5sp box.

Rims are US made Rota RB's: 17x8.5" +4.
Ben @ Otomoto is bringing them in & I got them while they were at a good price...

Riley:
S30=240Z
RS30=260Z 2seater
GRS30=260Z 2+2
S130=280ZX
Make sense? :P

Al, those rims are my old spare set of slot mags! :lol:

Brettski, the door is nearly done! I just have to paint the inside & fit the new door skin :)

The blue truck is a bit of a rarity - it's my '46 Austin 3-Ton Lorry.
3ltr OHV straight 6 (which the last 2 cylinders pertrude into the cab) & 4-speed crash gearbox.
It does a genuine 60mph cruising speed :) It's complete - I just have to get round to restoreing it... :?

Oh, & the big shed during constuction:

Looking good lurchybaby.

I've heard bad things about the rota rbs, but I'll be getting a set for my US zed shortly: A friend runs them on his track car, has for a couple of years now, no issues at all. :) And hes quicker than I ever will be, so stands to reason the rims will do just fine.

Piss the stock suspension/brakes off asap imho.

Dave

Gotta love the psuedo E type, it may be a poor mans Jag but once again Datsun got it right. The interior in these things are quite awesome.

What is/was the original colour?

Good form on getting some new door skins with it, are NOS panels readily available for the old Zeds?

:thumbsup:
