I am currently working on a 260Z 2+2.
The car only required minor mechanical repairs.
Everything is original except the cheviot mags!!
It even includes original toolkit which has been used once (incl wheel chocks, spark plug socket, etc).
The last repaint was 15 yrs ago and only has very little surface rust!!
I am gonna take it to the panel beaters to get bare metal repaint.
So far i have spent less than $700 gettn it 2 this condition (rego pits, etc).
Engine purrs, still has the L26 with all original gear! drives really well, no mechanical defects known.
I am planning to make this car show quality while keeping it all original!

Here are some new pics!

geez seems just like my 260z! All original, dodgy resto some time ago... but mine has alot more rust! I know a bit on Zs, well ive stripped mine exept motor and done a bare metal respray(well its all primed atm).

join WAZ regester www.wazcars.com . they dont do much but some of the guys are knowledgeable. Z day is always good! And I organise crusies through this website for the WA members.

Hope to see some progress!

I looked everywhere for those rims for my zed but couldn't find them in a four stud pattern, so eventually settled for the simmons knockoffs that I have now.

Are yours the original 14"?

BTW, why are you re-spraying it? The paint looks mint in the pics! And I dig the colour too.

Are the photos reasonablly representative of how it looks in real life? Is the panelwork fairly straight? If mine had been in that condition I wouldn't have bothered with a respray.

paint comes up good because its got a clear lacquer finish
it had a cheap respray about 15 yrs ago
had sum minor surface rust which i treated wiv rust converter pretty recently
and repainted wiv touch up paint
hit stone chips wiv touch up paint also
couple of scratches n scuff marks
panelwork is quite straight
couple of knocks on front bumper
the photos are exact copy of real life, altho had 2 decrease pic resolution or the file size wuld be huge. That sorta hides imperfections :/
the paint being reflective doesnt help either
its currently in original colour, and i intend to keep it identical after bare metal respray
in the interior, drivers side seat has a couple of rips and the roof lining came down. roof lining is still in good order tho
