1989 Nissan Vanette z20 stock as a rock. Over the next couple months I’ll be getting it ready for RWC e.g. freshening up brakes, engine, fuel system, exhaust and removing rust for a good bloke Steve Diamond. Don’t usually put other people’s projects up but thought isn’t something you see every day on here.

I think in the 1980s they were essentially the same thing, except the Vanette was the commercial version, and the Nomad was fitted out with rear seats, carpets and panel trim for the passenger vehicle market.

My dad had a Vanette, it was either a 1981 or 1982 model. That was a factory six-seater. I think the Nomad is a different vehicle, my dad's had an A12 and this Nomad has a Z-motor apparently.

This is also a 6 seater factory z20 1989. Not sure what they they have in common with a nomad, didn't know vanette existed till couple weeks ago. They also came out with a15 a12 ca20 and a diesel.

Wow!

My dad had one of these, great van we went everywhere with it. It was the SGL model with steel rims that looked like mag wheels.

We used to call it half an Urvan!

Could only fine a black and white one of it online but this was the model

Well in that case I have no idea. They look like exactly the same chassis, but the nomad seems a bit more up-market. There is a 1991 Nomad for sale on gumtree and a 1990 Vanette, and they look identical, except the vanette looks a bit more commercial and the nomad more urban.
