Heres the story,

I brought it from a salvage auction. It was a special auction for one of the big auction groups here in melbourne but the car was located in the country. After winning and organising pickup i drove 2hrs to finally see what i purchased.

On arrival the yard owner knew what i was there to pick up and immediately asked if i knew what i brought ,I told him some import toyota crown and in a worried tone asked whats wrong with it?

Told me it was a excellent buy and the car is mint! Told me the story why the insurance company wrote it off on the poor owner. The guy was moving a TV in the passenger front seat and had to do a emergency brake, which smashed the tv into the screen and cracked it badly. He was paid out the value of the vehicle because a replacment windscreen wasn't available.

Repairable write offs over 15 years old dont require a VIV, just a RWC to be registered again.

Its no rocket ship, its 1500kg with maybe 100rwkw.
