Sometimes I see it parked on that road that the Mac building is on, either that or in the suburb over the road.

Got some freeish paint as I need to paint her as primer just soaks up the water when it rains. Just really wanted to seal her up so it will not rust out to much as she is parked up outside.

Stripped all the shinny bits of and lights etc. Rub her down and did all the fun things that you have to do when you are about to paint a car. Got a lovely red glow on my shoulders/neck/arms which is going to come back and bite me tomorrow.

But bugga me the paint reacted with the primer and has gone all orange pearly. So a days effort for jack sh*t.............. I am slightly pissed off.

Yeah its a sh*t colour, but freeish paint is hard to pass up if you are poor........ Still slightly pissed off.

looks mean in a ratty way!

Since the paints nothing serious, do a serious flare on guards front and rear to go over the rims, and lower it more, no need to fit the 210 struts again :)

Here's the old A12, that on Friday the 1st of Feb that spat the dummy and dropped all its oil out the breather...................

Empty engine bay..............

Now that wouldnt have been a bad thing, if and only if I hadnt had just blown the gearbox in the Truck(the daily), which meant I had no vehicle to get to work!!!!!

So I had an A14 that I was slowly rebuilding on the engine stand, which now had the fast rebuild, but that didnt all go to plan............. So after spending all night(4am I got to bed) on the Friday finishing off the A14. Getting up at 9am on the Saturday morning to remove the old A12, get a few odds and sods from repco. Spent the rest of the day tiding up the A14 and getting ready to put it in the hole. Got it in and thought sweet, done!!! But oh no....... this little swap wasnt finished with me yet. In my haste to rebuild the A14, I some how managed to much up the timing and while cranking it over, noticed something wasnt right........ the timing was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out and I bent all the push rods and maybe some of the valves, so I whip off the head, took out the bent rods, found another A14/A15 head put that on reset the tappets, new head gasket etc..... and finally on Sunday it fired up. It made it to work on Monday(50km round trip). Was a good test drive!!

Lots of other little niggles held me up alone the way, but all in all was a bloody good learning curve for me. Here's the pictures of the A14 in the hole............

I also finished the rebuild on the dogleg 5 speed and put that in as well. She is about to get her biggest test so far, as there is a DOCNZ cruise on tomorrow. I will be giving her a good thrashing. 8) 8)

i know it's a daily driver, but i still can't help thinking how tough it would look with some more drop and smaller diameter tyres ...

Going anoher inch lower all around (at least) and he's saying fit smaller width tyres for that bit of stretch look, say 185's, i say just drop it further and fit the tyres under the guards all around, or remove the flares and fit 185's and camber to tuck them under the stock guards

I am not a big fan of the stretched tyre look and since this is going to end up as my daily driver heaps of negative camber and no springs in the end would not be that much fun to drive day in and day out. If I didnt have Monty, then maybe I would look at doing some more mod's but for now its all about keeping her pretty clean and semi standard.
