Hi guys,

I'm a bit of a newby, names Dan and just thought I'd start a thread for my car. It's a 1976 Datsun Skyline coupe C210. I got it off my cousin for the cost of hiring a trailer to drag it off his property. It came with shitty metallic green paint, surprisling small amount of rust, tidy black interior, decent running engine, 5spd, full set of 5 original alloys and a big dead rat behind the glove box :(

Now this car came about because my other car, a 4agte powered KE70 station wagon with 240rwhp was playing up and the wife wasn't happy with the time and money already spent on it.

So this was* to be a quick** fix up for rego and used as a daily till the better half forgot about my last round of shenanigans and I could start with the fun times again (was caught sussing RB half cuts before I had the car  )

*So far its consumed.....
New clutch and slave cylinder.
Re-coed brake master and slave cylinders
Points, plugs, cap, button, filters and oils
New stereo CD/USB/SD
New speakers
Custom(bored at work) twin outlet exhaust
Wife even made me a new gear stick boot

**And it's currently being prepped for a fresh coat of paint called Tropicana green with a gold pearl for good measure

Anyhow, here's some pics

And that's where it's up to.
Cheers Dan

Nice car dude. Get some new paint onto it and it will come up a treat. I don't think a girl has ever made anything for my car, so you're definately doing better than I am there  good luck with the build, I'll keep my eye on it.

Thanks for the comments guys,

I can't wait till it's painted either, have got the roof and bonnet ready to be etched and primed 2morrow. Hope the weathers good :hail:

Still need to borrow a mig so I can weld in some new steel, the outer sills on both sides were rusted out (between the door and rear wheel) and there's a small hole in the driver side foot well.
Going to weld up the holes for the rear quarter badges as I can't justify spending more :chaching: for them then the car cost me. Probably the holes for those marker light things on the top edge of the front guards too.

I made the Y section up at work and pinched the twins off of my old mans sandman, it's gonna be interchangeable with the muffler on the back, which is the only muffler, which is why it's gonna be replaceable. Can you say defect

2.5" in, 2" pipe, Twin 2.25" out

With a good motor and decent extractors that will sound mad, the 6cyl sounds so much better,

A rebuild, balance and headwork and cam, so it can rev, and itll sound awsome

F@#kin rain :x

Anyway got some rust/body repairs started along with the roof and bonnet etched/primed between showers.

Made my repair sections at work, love workin' for the government :)

Not to bad for a first effort at a proper rust repair job ie: no fiberglass

Welded up the holes for the front marker things

Rear badge holes gone to

Starting to feel like my skills are wasted as a fitter machinist  just kidding

Cheers Dan

When you say "good motor" you mean one starting with a RB and finishing with a DET right?

Yeah of course, but even a high comp, ported head and cammed motor would sound pretty nice

A nice high comp RB30E with 6 EFI throttle bodies, that that would be fun to drive.
