Well I've had a few cars over the years, some of which were 'almost' Datsuns.
I've had:
1980 MKII Ford Escort RS2000 (restored)
1983 S12 Gazelle (just some handling mods)
1983 S12 Gazelle (my first engine conversion, an SR20DET, also did an IRS conversion and alot of other fab on it)
1990 S13 Silvia (mostly bolt ons, I got lazy after all the fab on the S12)
1992 S13 180sx (my car while I was in Japan, bought it mostly modded already but then did a bunch of stuff to it, mostly bodywork)
1992 C33 Laurel Club S (bought it cheap to drift one weekend, just installed a 2 way LSD and then drove it and sold it again)
And now, 1977 810 200B :).

Should be fun to play with, and simple too, reminds me of my Escort.
So here it is, it's a 1977 build with an IRS. It's got 135,000km on it, it's a two owner car (owned by one old guy until 2006 or so), and overall it's pretty solid. It's got a touch of rust in the bonnet but pretty much none anywhere else (and I'm rather accustomed to finding rust, my father restores old cars so I know what to look for!).
Plans for it are minimal. It's solid but I'd like to neaten it up more (I gave it a good wash on the outside and in the engine bay today, but it could be much cleaner). I'd like to get it to idle properly, it's idling low right now (otherwise it goes very nicely). I'll replace the suspension bushes as I go, none of them are critical but it'll tighten it up nicely I'm sure. I want to lower it, just using springs, nothing fancy. I'll put some wheels on it, I've got a bunch of stuff coming from Japan right now (I lived there for a year and a half, I loaded up a container of stuff to bring back before I left). Maybe some Longchamp XR-4s or some Hoshino Impuls. I'd like to add extractors, an exhaust and some twin carbs from a SSS to it for a little extra go, perhaps a 5 speed box from something (I'm told anything with an L will do, so perhaps an early 710 bluebird box will be the go) and finally an LSD. Looking under it the diff looks like an R160 (is it?) so I'm guessing an R180 LSD should fit in with relative ease. I'm showing my knowledge of Datsuns so far haha.

So yeah if anyone wants to sling me some second hand:
Extractors
Exhaust
Superlow king springs or similar
Twin SUs
Then let me know :P, I'm in no hurry though :).

So here are some pics of the car, it's my girlfriends daily (and mine until I blueslip my Silvia, I was away for a fair while and I deregistered the Silvia before I left). It'll be her fun car when I do some mods to it, and she gets herself another daily.

Thanks!

Yeah I'm in no hurry at all, how much would you want for some SUs? I certainly wouldn't be fitting them for another few months but gathering a few parts over time can't hurt.

Haha, I tend to keep track of stuff fairly well, since I'm a stingy bugger when it comes to cars! Still spreading it over time does help alot!

For the most part it's wheels and stuff for customers (I used to export parts from Japan when I lived there).
I'll have a bunch of stuff for sale when it all lands, it'll mostly be 15" wheels of various kinds, Longchamp XR-4s, SSR Formula Mesh, Impul Pro Mesh, Volk Racing Mesh, Hoshino Impuls and a few other things. I've got some R33 brakes, 5 stud hub conversion kits and so on in there as well along with many things I can't remember off the top of my head haha.

Pretty clean looking 200b there... does it have the usual 6" of slop in the gear linkage?

Nah the gearshift feels pretty good actually. It weeps oil out of the linkage on the back of the box but i suspect that is kind of 'normal' with this style of external linkage box.

Wow, 200Bs are popping up all over the place!

Sounds like it will be a fun car to play around with. What does your girlfriend think of the car? I've never let any girls I know drive my 200B but there's been mixed opinions when they go for a ride...

My girlfriend likes it in general. She's still looking forward to the Suzuki Ignis Sport she's buying soonish though. She was rather taken by her last beat up car an R31 Pintara as well haha (her own good car at the time was a 2006 Barina).
