As the topic indicates, I am after a home made oil catch can. Is for an L series, but I want to hook up the engine breather from the block, and also the breather on the rocker cover. Is it best to: 1)vent this at all, 2)vent it through a little air filter into the engine bay, or 3) vent it somewhere else. I am also running webbers, and might want to link some other hoses, that are meant to be connected to things (or use to be), just so it looks neat for the cops.

Cheers

Michael

PS. I have seen the one on Turbophile.com, but was after other suggestions, maybe some not requiring a welder, or little of.

You've got to vent your can somewhere. The crankcase has to breathe. Personally, I go for the little air filter idea. If you're going to use the car in competition, just remember that your catch can has to have a volume of 2 litres.

Cheers,

Will venting it through the little filter eliminate the odour i am getting at the moment? What is the best type of filter to use for this, or is any little one good??

Any other suggestions for catch can? Materials etc??

Thanks for that guys. I am still after alternatives, if any one has any. The only reason is because i don't have a welder, and i don't know how to weld. I could get hold of a welder, but the later is still a problem.

Thanks for that guys! 1 final thing is, I was planning on venting the box through a little air filter, but wanted to remove it from the engine bay, to stop the fumes coming into the car. Where is the best place to vent it to??

aight, i'm a bit pissed, however, all i did for rwc was run it to a bottle on the firewall, with the same from the engine. looked decent enough, n got pulled over by a traffic cop n he didn't ask qns. twas exactly wat the bloke told me to do where i got the rwc done, n kinda did the job. more or less. depends wat ur after, got quoted by the blokes at 1600 workshop for a proper one with a filter, but as i said, depends what u got to spare.
