Looking good my friend. I'll be interested to see how long your extractors last without looking like rust again. I had mine acid dipped, then I used a wire brush attachment on my angle grinder to remove all of the surface rust that had re-appeared in the hour ort so since they came out of the acid, then coated them in heat-resistant clear coat. Within a couple of days they were looking a bit interesting, and while I haven't looked closely for a few weeks, I have my doubts on them being rust-free still...

Well I'm going to wire brush them back, paint them and then heat wrap them.
I expect to see rust on them pretty soon afterwards haha.

nice 200b mate.

i got a set off 200b front lowered king springs you can have for $50. and whatever postage is to where you live.

also when lowering the rear i would'nt use the lowered springs from king the first set i brought were way to soft and the tyres would scrub all the time, i rang them and told them about it so they set me replacement ones that were to soft also.

i ended up using 240z rear springs, then modified the spring seat to get the car to sit a little higher. :)

this was all done on irs 200bsss.

good luck with the weapon

Cool.
I'd already pretty much decided not to go with Kings. Their springs are 30mm lowered and $180 a pair new so it wasn't really what I was after.
Aurora have 40mm lowered (looking at the car i'd say 50mm is a decent lowered height for it, without getting silly) for $178 a pair. The rate on the Auroras is 224lb/in (4kg/mm i think) all round.

Any idea what rate the Kings are? I'd be happy with $50 Kings, then just lop half a coil off them.

What sort of 240Z springs did you use? Lowered ones or OEM? They might be easier to find than second hand IRS 200B ones and cheaper than new IRS 200B ones :).

Jarich

last time i got king springs they were $104 a pair, that was trade price though, superlows front and rear for the S13 before i went to coilovers, and it still had 110mm ground clerance, was pathetic

Got a price on VN commodore front shocks (i'm told they are shorter stroke than 200B front shocks, but fit the same struts) and Hitachi SU rebuild kits from Autopro yesterday.
A bit steep on both accounts!
$204 for a pair of SU rebuild kits and something like $240 for the shocks.
Ebay shocks for half that looks like the go, along with another source of carby rebuild kits...

I've been getting my Silvia ready for blueslip so soon I'll have a chance to put the 200B in the shed and do the suspension and a few other things to it :).

I've done a bit of stuff for the Datsun lately :). After a bit of a long break, i've just been driving it around for the most part haha.

I bought a 2" baffled muffler for my new exhaust system (i'm going to run the single oval baffled muffler about the centre of the system) and got hold of a bag of 2" stainless steel mandral bends. I've got some 2" stainless straight pipe and stainless MIG wire coming too so I'll start on the exhaust soon :).

Also I disassembled the hitachi SU's and gave them a good clean out, started putting them together again tonight. Dad straightened out the heat shield and grit blasted it at work for me as well :). I'll probably paint it silver soon. I've started making gaskets for the float bowl and the manifold as well. Should get the rest of them back together this week. Going to get all new screws, nuts, bolts and washers for the carbies this week too. All stainless steel ones :).

Also i went to see the place that i usually get engine work done to get the head skimmed and they have shut down :(. Does anyone have any recommendations for places around newcastle to skim the head, do the valve seats and maybe regrind my cam?
