Well after driving the datto to work the last few days ive decided she's in dire need of a suspension overhall before I purchase wheels or a new turbo I know my rear shocks are in need of a rebuild or replacement ( there staring to knock there heads off) as well as new unis, balljoints, tierods ect but im also wanting to convert my front struts to coilovers. What sort of kits have people used on here before or recomend? I know t3 is pretty popular but I dont know much about them So if anyone has any sugestions on what I should be looking at please let me know :)

Hey stu

T3 is pretty good, and with the dollar as high as it is right now it is worth buying from them, I think I paid around $500 ish for camber tops, coilover sleeves, upper spring hats, springs and shipping, then I went with Z31 koni Yellow shocks and I have a contact who can get them for real cheap! they set me back another $500 or so.

The drove so so much better even with crappy tyres and just felt much more stable at 100km/h on the freeway.

Stu,
Whats your budget?
Firstly, I reccomend you get the collars welded on etc by lagwagon if your not handy with a welder/ own a welder (like us :( )

Strut top:
A couple of choices here,
T3, go go exchange rate!
Cusco, i can get these direct, but they all ready are exxy direct plus the average exchange rate..
Anything secondhand from a s13/s14/s15 silvia, shop around, I spotted a couple weeks ago new s13 tops on ebay usa for $70usd plus shipping..

Threaded sleeve collars:
T3, although I wasnt a fan of alloy collars, they proved themselfs on Alex's, leighs and marks cars respectively.

Custom compact, more expensive than T3, steel collar and alloy spring retainers.
I can get these at trade as I supply the springs for these kits.
Note: the above kit uses a 2.5 inch ID spring

We use the above kit in the 1600, mainly for the fact its sort of our product.

Otomoto,
These guys do a great collar kit, its very well priced, kit also comes with spring rate of your choice, and also a tender/helper spring arrangement.
I'd recommend this Kit simply for value for money.

Noltec/whiteline,
Not sure if they are still being produced?

Shocks:
Bilstein, koni, kyb, tokico , trd.

R31 kyb excel G for a good budget insert.

1600 we went with trd yellow's to suit ae92
(alot shorter than r31)

Springs:
kings, lovells etc.

Il get in touch with leigh as well and see if he can weld them up for me too thanks for the info mate
