From what i understand early 200b's had IRS until Australian law made it mandatory to have more Australian parts or manfacturing on the car. If this is correct does that mean early 200B's had IRS and if that is true when did they stop putting it in them and how would i tell if my car had it.

Look under the back of the car.

If there's one straight pole going from one wheel to the other with a big circle in the middle, its not IRS.

My old man bought a 200B from the first batch sold in Australia (which had IRS).

The story he was told at the time was that there were problems getting the australian prouction line up and running, so Nissan brought in a batch of imported ones from Japan to meet initial demand. That was what he remembered the salesman telling him, so I'm not sure of the accuracy of the tale. There aren't that many IRS sedans around, only very early ones.

All the SSS coupes were IRS, as I believe these were all fully imported.

Most of the 1977 200B's are IRS, and maybe even a few 1978 models as well.

Yeah I'd say they were brought into oz as knockdown kits or similar.
They still run Australian electrics (Bosch) and have Australian build plates from memory.
Not like my S12s which were all fully imported and had Japanese electrics (JECS) and Japanese build plates.
I'll have to have a closer look at my IRS 810 laters :).
