hey guys/girls,
Thought i chuck my ride/build up,
Well its no exactly mine, im building it for my sister as her 1st car.
The car was in decent condition when i bought it, had fresh paint, mint interior and was running. Even came with original radio, hubcaps, jack etc.
Picked it up a few weeks ago and have done a bit of work to it so far.
So far i have-
Given it a good service, replaced all fluids and gave the car a good look over.
Replaced alternator, battery, coil, leads, plugs etc
Had the head reconditioned/shaved etc
Bought a Weber carburetor (waiting for delivery atm)
Bought new side indicators (again waiting on delivery)
Organized all the little things i needed (rear vision mirror, some interior bits)
Also sourced some extractors (wont go on for a while tho)

All the parts mentioned above should come this week, but i still have a few other things to do before RWC.
Need to fix the drivers door as it has been replaced at some stage and has some minor damage and also needs to be painted to match the car.

So hopefully in a few weeks she will be on the road =)
Then once she is the exhaust will come, going a 1 3/4" system, don't want anything to big/loud as it is my sisters car and thats not what shes after. But still the 1 3/4" system with extractors should give the car a nice note
Then last but not least she will get some nice 14"-15" Rims. Not sure what style atm, ultimately its my sisters choice, but i still have some say in the matter

Anyways enough talking from me, here are the pics-

The head is just sitting on atm, thats why nothing has been reconnected. This is because my mate snapped a head bolt when we were bolting it back on. But Ive got a new set organized so itll be bolted on soon enough =)

not sure on the colour, i need to find out myself so i can buy some and paint the door.
Bit of a update, got the indicators and the carby.
Dummy fit it to see how itd look, but still need a head bolt b4 i can out it al back together.

What part of QLD are you hiding? If Brisbane what suburb?

just curious as ill probs head up there every now and again once the Dattos finished, then when my XC is done will probs go up there in that.

Also a bit of a update, started to tidy up the boot, got a great deal on the carpet, asked a guy if he knew if any1 was in the flooring section atm as it was unattended, and because the flooring guy was on break he offered to come cut the carpet, and it turned out he had 2 120Ys himself, so got talking for a bit then he found a offcut of the carpet i was after, it was a bit over 2m long and was meant to be almost 40$ a meter but i got the lot for 25$, so that wasn't too bad. Got some pics as usual so will upload them now.





No where near finished as u can see, just getting the dimensions atm, but you can get the idea of how it will look, the back section will be one piece not three, then there will be two side panels but i ran out of wood ahah and on one of the side panels ill mount a amp to power the front alpine type R splits once i take all my old stereo gear out of my old car.
There will also be a part of the floor section that will lift off to get the spare tire out.
Will hopefully finish it on Tuesday. =)

Hey i like that garage. I got an xb which is done, and now getting a 120y this weekend.
Love the color of the datto, and she looks tidy.
Can u give me a hand tho. Where is the vin number of a 120Y?

Watch that welsh plug under the manifold mate

I do acacia ridge least once a month in the xb. but will do it in the 12oy as well when it's done. friday nights are the go, but acaia is more old school with a bit of plastic, but harry's is all new school with 1 or 2 old school. not worth going.

We've actually totally stripped our engine down doing frsh everything, inc a welsh plug kit and a fresh coat of paint, it was just to replace the clutch, but uh bugger it. just to ensure it is all healthy. should be back in this weekend.
then i'll neaten the inside and may build in the boot too. just carpet it in black speaker carpet.

I'm 43som on there.
