MoTec M600 will drive LS1/2 coils direct, they even have a tech drawing for it.

MoTec FTW, the rest FTL

LS1 coils are still sitting in my shed, waiting for me to finish rust removal before I start any mechanical work

Apparently one advantage of the LS1 coils is that the ignitor part is built into the coil. They don't need a seperate ignitor (hope that's the right terminology :? )

Thats right, which is why they can be driven direct by the right ECU, no separate black box required.

If you get the coils as a 4 pack mounted on the original bracket, there is a small loom that wires to a gray Delphi connector.

Once you get the mating plug you're in business
Saves getting individual connectors for the coil packs
Haltech sell the required plug, it is the same connector that they use on their Fuel Injector loom
Haltech also recommend and sell LS1 coils since they are directly compatible with all of their EFI ECUs.
