I have cut down a R31 Skyline diff for my 1200. Problem is the diff whines when under acceleration over 70 kph and quite loudly.

To be fair I got the diff cheap and it has done 400,000 plus km

So what is a fair price to pay for an overhall, new bearings etc

And if the crown and pinion is worn would I be best hunting around for a 2nd hand one? I have seen them 2nd hand on Ebay for $250 ish and the Diff specialist I sproke to said approx $800 new.

If some body wants to sugest a reputable place in WA that would be great.
