Im looking at reinstalling my dash back into my car soon and want to tidy it up a little first.

Ive been doing a bit of research into the VHT vinyl dye paint stuff they make. Ive read good things on this site but was wondering if anyone had any photos of what there dash looked like after they gave it a coating and how its standing up to the test of time.

My dash is crack free but a bit inconsistent in colour and a little blotchy from something spilt on it some time over the last 35+ years.

I figure just a really good wipe down with some prep sol then paint it on?
Do i paint on a couple of thick coats or do alot of lite fine coats?
What colour is recommended for a stock original look Satan black or gloss black?

Thanks for your help and advice
Brett

I painted my white crudy old sun visors black with the VHT die. They look just the same today. This was 7 years ago.

if you want the factory texture coat finish, use K&H BUMPER COAT. that's what Baz recommended to me and he reakons they use it inhouse at datsport, coming up better than factory.
