If I had one of these grilles spare, I'd have been chucking it on ebay at slightly less than the highest bid on the other one. Try to get the current under-bidder to come across to my auction. Or even slightly above (as in that link), hope one of the bidders will decide a "Buy it now" of, say, $2500 is better than possibly having to pay more in the other auction.

I guess at the end of the day, the buyer obviously wants the grille and is happy to pay that amount of money.

Ha ha.
did anyone on here put up that grille??
I think I know who it may be as I've bought something off them before. A while ago
I'd definately try it myself if I had one of those grilles.
I still don't quite believe that the original auction was legit, I guess it will show in the feedback.

That's not really great GP. After fees, time etc he'd be making probably only 20% GP. Terrible!

to his door cost = ¥13,500 + ¥1,500 shipping + ¥500 bank fee = ¥15,500
in aud = $175
sell for = $399 (or more if people are stupid)
shipping charge = $105.00 (this is close to accurate - about $10 extra which i imagine would be for handling/packing costs)

he's making AUD$224 profit.

And instead of me paying a quoted $252 for them, i would now have to pay $504.
So i've been dudded out of $252.
He's DOUBLED the amount i would have to pay to get them to my door.

Great way to screw people over eh?

sad.

At least if you buy over ebay with him he is a known seller, you know what you are getting and your not likely to get somthing **** turning up at your door and if it did you would have hope of getting your money back. He takes nice pics of the item and it normally fairly fair in the description.

however that being said you certainly pay for it. personally id buy from yahoo but im sure there are people out there who either think the extra security is worth the money or just pain dont know how to use/have never herd of yahoo japan auctions. I guess that is why he is in business, and a %100 mark up is certainly not uncommon for small business selling in small numbers in that kind of price range. My dad sells furniture and he has around %100 mark up and still sells better quality items considerably cheaper then his competitors
