Ok so now i have your attention,(i know how they work)This may still be be a dumb question still; what i dont understand is,if i put my foot down hard enough i reach maximum momentum decrease until the tryes lock up.so how does a brake upgrade make the brakes any better ??

Your brakes may lock up when you need to stop fast once, but if you go for a blat through the hills they will get too hot and the pedal will get longer and longer until it hits the floor and you cant stop the car.

Brake upgrades improve this.

Bigger brakes coupled with bigger calipers & pads work due to the increase in swept area also an increased ability to transfer heat.

Increasing the radius from the axle centre point directly increases the retarding torque of the caliper. Just as a torque wrench T= F x r. So to develop more torque you can increase the radius(r) ie bigger disc, increase the Force applied(F) ie boosting, better friction material.....or both
So endeth the lesson..
