Hey Guys,

My late model 180b wouldn't start today! after kicking the tires and popping the hood I estimated that the points had closed up (dual point hitachi). I didn't have feeler gauges so I used my business card :) ... The car started after the adjustment so I set off down the frog and toad until I got to a slight incline. The motor wasn't liking my dodgy points alignment at all. I pulled over and proceeded to try to fix the problem. Long story short I tried changing leads and coil along with properly aligning the points with a dwell meter with no luck... until I disconnected one point... everything works as it should now !.

Whats every ones opinions of running a single point in a dual point dizzy? am I going to do damage? higher fuel usage?

I know most would just upgrade to electronic but for now will this get me by...?

Cheers
