My car is still a long way off, but need to put suspension up under it for doing a dummy install of the motor. Will take some photos of them installed when they arrive.

Cheers

Has anybody had any experience with these?

http://www.ground-control-store.com/pro ... php/II=758

I believe they use a Koni 30-series shock, which is a mono-tube racing shock.

Anyone used em?

None of it is legal in NSW without engineer's report on the specific components used including strength testing etc.

Sure you aren't changing the basic suspension design but the components are all manufactured differently. Spherical rod ends like those on the castor rods cannot be engineered at all and are completely illegal for road use.
all depends on who engineers your car :giggle:

so really, just engineer and register your car with standard parts, then switch to the goodies.
That's fine until you kill someone on the road and they go over your car.

ok..so lets clear this up for me, all other people intending to use suspension components with rose bush (spherical bearing)..and of course forum jockey.

there are a few people on here now using the t3 castor arms, so lets clarify that they are legal to use on NSW roads.

these types of bushes ARE legal, allowed, permitted on NSW roads as long as they are covered and sealed by a rubber boot. Obviously to stop dirt etc getting into joint. If they are not covered by a sealed rubber boot kit, not allowed.

If you wanna argue, dispute this, have your two cents, then call Greg on (02) 9521 1388, who is an RTA signatory, and he will glandly explain to you how it all works.

:cheers

ive got some koni's ordered instead. ive decided to scrap the coil over idea.

koni yellow, mono tube, adjustable rebound damping, suited to 900lb spring. $169ea

call jay @ ground control, he's good with 510 suspension.

RE the drag setup.
I did a few pases the other day.
The best 60' i got was 1.71.
Im thinking with the extra grip going a bit harder in the rear might be good.
Definately long springs with the car sitting high is the go though.
There is definately room for improvment on the 60' times.
Ill leave that up to you though. Im done, happily driving away without breaking the box or clutch.

Just stumbled across this:

"Rear Height Adjustment Set - Datsun 1600
-approx 30mm of Adjustment replaces Top of Spring Rubber Seat"

http://www.swmotorsport.com.au/product_ ... ts_id=1089

Could be a more practical option for adjustable height then rear coil overs....

Any experiences with these out there? or even better pics?

think they might be like this?

anyway probably good for race cars or rally cars but for a lowered street car you wouldn't be left with much travel.

Ah bummer.
Assumed they would be a wind-to adjust sleeve sort of thing, but it's actually a set of spring spacers that sit on top of the spring.
Will be just as easy to swap my higher springs in when i need them ;)
comes with:
2 alloy parts to replace rubber spring seat (on top of spring) 10mm thick
6 5mm spacer rings
this will give you a maximum lift of 25mm each side.

Would anyone like to buy it off me? :P

It will actually give you alot more adjustment then that at the wheel arch. Datsport say it is about a 3-1 ratio from spring to wheel arch. I have made up for myself a ring that is cut in half and bolts together to slide under the top of the springs if I need to raise rear end. Just jack up rear end and slide underneath and bolt together with cap screw ™.
