Hey guys I've had a quick search but couldn't find any information on how to hook up a factory tacho with a CA18's coil system. Is it possible?? I've seen the threads about hooking up electric dizzys to a tacho but would really like to use my SSS tacho with my CA any help much appreciated cheers.

I'll have to play this game to i think people have done it before as i researched it ages ago.
There might be a problem with them being a bit laggy as i think they actually change to a +ve pick up off the coil pack signal wires.
I researched this ages ago!

The other option is drop the gauge down to your local "good" auto sparky joint and get them to sort it out for you so its ready to run off the new system. Thats my plan as i have a mate who does this sort of thing for a job.

Yeah option 2 seems more likely, just want to retain the face of it so it looks original but will work with the newer coil system. Finding a good sparky might be the hard part.

Theres a place up north in Whangarei (my mate used to work there) these guys a geniuses (two in particular) place is called (Autotech)
For the price of a courier ticket E20 bag etc you could send it up to them get them to sort it for you. Another place would be "capital instruments".

But id be and will be using auto tech for sure. Id put there auto sparky skills against anyone in the country no probs.

The main impulse wire that loops through the white block on the back of the tach is what picks up the signal.
So feed the coils power lead through the block.
