Hi All,

I'm ready to put the rear end in, I have some washers and not sure what goes where. I have looked in my Haynes manual I have an there isn't anything clear on this. A few questions:

- I have the Datsport rear end with bushes (Do I need these?)
- I know I need the pins, I have brought new nuts for them
- If I have to re-use the washers with rubber on them, can you buy new ones as the ones I have are pretty stuffed

Cheers,

Trent

Hey Trent i think the newer bushes cancel the need for GC rubber on those washers , I used new bushes and the bush is sandwiched between the washers tight , versus a gap with stock and the bush taking the weight and allowing movement.
much like a solid mount but with some absorbtion

washer against floor with rubber facing down , and the concave on the bottom , the thick small washers are used to centre the concave washer with the pin

I may be wrong but thats how mine is.

Ahh awesome, thanks for that Joel.

So did you just pick take the rubber off the existing washer? If that's the case I can do that and will get them re-plated.

Cheers,

Trent

The rubber on mine is boarder line powder, just a light rub and it flakes away. hmm. Decisions...

from what I can gather the rubber is designed to take the shock or knock if the stock bush is stuffed or the crossmember gets pushed up far enough it will stop the outer ring of the crossmember knocking metal on metal , with the new style bush its all sandwiched between the bush so I doubt theres need for it

OK great, will get the rubber off today and into the blasting cabinet, then off for re-plating :)

The black bushes Datsport supply have the crush tube set to give the correct crush on the bushes with out the top washers.

Clean the surface of the body frame where the old washer seated. (top)

The top bush has a full flat surface & the lower bush is concave.

Install the bush with the full flat surface on to the frame. (Note this method not suitable for SP bushes.)

Concave bush installed at the bottom with concave washer & thick spacer secured with nyloc.

So apart from the bushes, parts required are: Pin, concave washer, spacer & nylock.
