No its not me. I built the motor.

The driver is a good mate of mine, Jamie Oldfield. He's a multiple state & national street stock champion in speedway. We both used to race at state & national level in the bigger classes. He still does, I gave it away to pursue my business. A couple of years ago (full of piss & bad manners) we bought this car as a bit of fun. Its a 69 model P510 & has been a speedway car for probably 25 years, so you can imagine the condition its in. Basically, its a heap of sh*t. But it goes good and is fun to drive.
We've had the car for probably 3 years now. Jamie drove it at the same event the first year, but didn't do so well (wrong gear ratio). I drove it a few times during that year at my home track. Won a couple of feature races but then had a couple of blow ups (both oversize L18's). It then sat in my backyard for a couple of years until I found a bluebird to buy, that I could get the 2lt out of. Built that motor up, probably spending more than I should have. The motor now owes me twice what the car does.

The in-car footage was the first time the car has been raced since. Actually it was the 2nd heat race of the day. The first time jamie has raced the car in 3 years. The first time the engine had been raced. & the first time the car had been raced in 2 years. The event was the annual "Far Western Championships" held in Sharkbay (WA) every year. Just a good fun event.

There were 38 cars nominated in our class for the event. We qualified to start out of position 9 in the feature, after a heat win (re the footage) and a couple of decent placings. Our first heat wasn't so good - wrong tyres = no traction.
Anyways, we ended up finishing 4th in the feature.

The car has a cult following among WA speedway competitors and spectators.
