Deoxidine is a metal preparation.
Usually diluted phosphoric acid.
You scrub the panel with a 3M scourer saturated in the product and it converts all the remaining rust to inert iron phosphate.
An essential step when re-finishing :)

You have to wash of excess deoxidine with water. To make sure it is cleaned properly you need to do a water break test which is just putting water on and making sure it doesn't bead up

Mine looked exactly like that

I used a big wire buff wheel on a 9" angle grinder
Strip it disks on a angle grinder
Blunt Chisel and lpg bottle/torch
It was a pain in the butt

yep the strip it disc is the right thing for the paint but i dont use it on the body sealer. i normally soak that with turps or penetrol. it sofens it enough to peel it off after it soaked for a while.

Yes you can get rust from deoxidine but you would have more rust issues not using it.
I use it strait from the bottle and do half a bonnet at a time. Apply with red scotch bright then i have 1 damp rag and 1 dry 1.
Wipe with damp one to get bulk off then rinse with clean water and wipe again.
With the dry rag and air blower i run aross the panel and clean it.
You want it to go a blueish colour like this.

You can tell if you haven't done it right because the panel with look like rust stains.
This is my way of doin it and there are plenty other ways you could do it as well.
