Hi All,

you may have already seen my L18 build in the engines section. anyway I have just rebuilt an L18 and am putting it into a stanza and need some advice on the following:

Will the L18 sump from a 180B fit into the stanza?

What was the standard length for a stanza 4 speed? (short or long)

Are auto and manual flywheel bolts the same?

currently I have a long 4 speed and dont want to have to shorten the tailshaft or put the box in to find out its too long. I also dont want to buy an l16 sump if the L18 one i have just cleaned and painted will fit!!!

sorrt for the simple questions but its information i hve searched for and not found a difinative answer for.

Cheers!

Measure the box and compare it with the stock 4 speed?

Auto flex plate bolts are not the same as manual flywheel bolts.

Well, from what I can see, the A10 L16 engine has a REAR bowl sump as does the 610 L18.
Therefore it should fit fine.

L18/L16 sump will fit the engine, not the vehicle.
A 200B sump & pickup can be used, apart from the Stanza unit.
You will need the mounts & brackets from the Stanza as well.

Thanks Nissman & Baz,

I have found a sump and pickup from a stanza.

The gearbox I have is 770mm long. Anyone know what the length of a stock stanza box is?
