Gday all!

So i am losing a lot of sleep on what colour to paint my 1600 sedan. Its straight and rust free and ready to go and i keep changing my mind but the most common conclusion i come to is an original white that the car would of rolled off the showroom floor with. Can someone point me in the direction of the original white paint names and codes i should be choosing from. Of course there are code charts online but none really indicate what to expect from the colour. Any help is appreciated, will probably be getting the car painted in Bendigo.

Cheers.

Hi EasternRangesDatsun,

Welcome to Ozdat. There's a really handy search function we have which can trawl through the hordes of information we have on this forum.
Here's a few from said search function, I hope they help!

This one refers to the dime quarterly. Another fantastic Datsun resource:

Going off that first link they are talking about 12330 paint code for Antarctica white( my 1600 has this paint code) I got some mixed up at the panel beater suppliers and it came out nothing like Antarctica white, he was going on about why that paint code isn't right. I can't remember exactly what he was saying.

Anyway he had to do an eye match, as he could find another code. I might try that clc911 code next time.

That's something I am paranoid about, getting a code for a colour that's only theoretically correct but not anything like its perceived colour. I'm certainly keener on an older flatter look but nothing with hints of yellow or warmer colours. Ill be trawling through the links maybe ill get lily and see a car with something I'm keen on thanks guys.

Datfusion seems to be down but http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/co ... un_A-G.htm was pretty helpful. Looks like the best way to get a close match is to have a panel the colour I want. Gonna have to find some white datsun panels haha, Thanks for the help again now im gonna sniff out painters in bendigo

G'day all

I am about to get some colour on the engine bay of my 1600 but trying to find the original colour is proving to be difficult.
Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on what the original colour might be. P/Colour on the compliance plate reads LE11110.

I have read all the links in the thread above but can't seem to find anything.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers
Mick

Antartica white is the most common but there is other 'off' whites too like Alaskan white #831.
If the cars original in the engine bay there should be a paint sticker on the radiator support right next to the female part of the bonnet catch.
This should have the original Dulon paint code on it.
If all else fails just take it to a good crash shop. They should be able to colour match it exactly and give you the code for future reference...
