Hello people, after attacking the rear off my 200b today. I found a lot more rust than I thought was there. No surprise for a datto. I was going to repair the car myself, but think I have put my foot in it now and am going to have to get a professional to repair it.
Anyone got any advice on where to go / what to do next.

If that's the worst of it you're laughing!
Patch panels will fix all that, the catch is they will have to be custom made.
I doubt that you will find a rear clip that hasn't done the same thing or worse.

That's pretty standard for a 200B. If you're lucky enough to find one that hasn't rusted out there that you can steal the rear beaver from it can be swapped, but the chances of that are low so you should probably just work with what you have.

Thanks for the replys.
First that is the worst of it, I hope.
A good rear beaver sounds like the go, as i'm not good with welding.
And yes it's a 200B, but it's still a datsun ;)
I was thinking of just cuting out the rust first, then fiberglassing in the patches. As I cant afford to paysome.
As the problem was the taillights. And I now have a good non leaky set, and silicone to be sure.

Cheers

:tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: to the fibreglass.
You need to replace metal with metal.
If that is indeed the worst of it, I would get a shop to cut and patch.
No harm in getting a quote based on your description and pictures.
Where are you located?

Yer I do agree nissanman, But this was ment to be a temp fix. I know cutting corners is bad.
The only other major rust is in the doors. And along the bottom of the back window there's some surface rust, that I wont know how bad that is untill I take the window out.

My plan is. To stop water getting in the boot, and fit the new doors and seals. To stop it rusting any more. Then worry about paint and panle later. As then I would know that it's not getting worse.

I live in adelaide down south too

Cheers
