as title says its stuck in 3rd but feels like neutral, its an a12 in a datsun 1200 ute with a 4 speed need help ASAP

possible sheared roll pin in selector fork.

Treating it a bit too harshly?
With some boxes, ie racing, it's an idea to double roll pin the selectors to the rods.

No doubt it will do it again. We used to get a false neutral. I think the guide holes through the extention housing get worn and allow the selectors to skew. You could either get another extension housing and possibly even change it in the car, our ideally pull the gearbox out and get the guides sleeved. We used to have the double roll pins too but never had a prob with them anyway.

Once it's happened once, it will do it again.

Start keeping an eye out for a replacement box and/or plan to rebuild yours if you are attached to it for some reason.

Yeah we are aware, its not my car but it happened while i was driving so i said if pay for a new gearbox
