The subject pretty much sums it up.

On the list I have instructions for (thanks Datsport fitting section)

* Throttle cable hole in firewall
* Centre handbrake (if fitting)
* Gearshift/trans tunnel enlarging
* Crush tube holes (for Datsport EHK)

Things I would like some help on, and pics if you have them...

* enlargening the radiator opening
* holes for harnesses when fitting SR20DET (I have spoken briefly with Baz on this but was distracted by work phones going stupid)
* a template for intercooler outlets in rad support, anyone know if the Datsport kit comes with a template? I keep forgetting to ask, or is it cut as you go.

and if I'm missing something, please feel free to add.

my car is heading in for panel/paint in two weeks, so I wanted to get this all done first, and then send it off. any help would be great :hail:

Enlarging the radiator/intercooler opening:
Do you have the Datsport kit for the rad/intercooler? I don't, and I didn't enlarge it too much. Just enough to fit the intercooler.

Holes for harnesses:
I used the existing ones on the side of the chair (original), and made some custom ones for the 4 point on the back of the parcel shelf (with 3mm plate reinforcing)

The crush tubes are 20mm dia and there are instructions on how to do this on their site, best thing is to get a drill step cutter, its basically a drill bit in the shape of a cone with steps in it, the point of it may be 8mm then next one is 10mm, 15mm, 20mm and so on......

* Throttle cable hole in firewall - They have a kit with instructions on this, specifically for 1600
* Centre handbrake (if fitting) - Same yet again
* Gearshift/trans tunnel enlarging - once again On the Datsport site
* Crush tube holes (for Datsport EHK) - as mentioned above and on here: http://www.datsport.com/fitting-instruc ... _tube.html

for all other info the links are on here: http://www.datsport.com/fitting-instruc ... tions.html

Hope that helps???

Alex

thanks guys.. SIX-TEN, in my first post, I mentioned I had the instructions for those you mentioned off of the datsport site. i put them up in the post more as a checklist.

the last three aren't detailed on datsport that I could find, that is the:
* how large to open radiator opening
* where to cut for intercooler outlets
* and harness holes in firewall for EFI harness.

SR20Datsun, I meant EFI harness holes in firewall sorry, not seatbelt harnesses. thanks anyhoo.

i haven't even got the motor yet, just prepping before getting panel/paint done, i wanted to cut/drill as much as possible before sending it in.

maybe it's best i wait to get to that point and just rust proof the holes when i get to fitting the harness/motor. ???

oh my bad.....

well I cut mine up before painting, definitely before primer too! I think the loom grommet is 55mm dia, I can double check for you but not sure if the grommet is different size for the various models, S13,14,15....

IMO cut the holes before anything else since the loom can be made shorter or longer, preferably shorter if you know what I mean????

anyways PLMS info on here if you don't have it: http://www.plmsdevelopments.com/wiringlooms.shtml

with the other stuff I would have thought that the parts you purchase would determine how large the opening need to be made and where the cooler pipes would run through.

you could always call Baz yourself and ask for info if you're thinking of purchasing their radiator/FMIC kit.

i've just made the time to call him.... getting things sorted...
Baz did mention he's about to do another fit soon and will be taking photos and documenting it all, in the meantime I have absorbed as much info as I could over the phone.

A bit of a thread revive haha. Im at the same stage and am trying to figure out what holes to leave or fill in. Im running the datsport centre hand brake, Is leaving the original hole of any benefit? Im doing sr20 conversion and I assume I leave the two outer most large holes for looms? Any photos would be a great help :D

Cheers,

Richard
