Dear ozdat.
the thread in my thermostat houseing broke blah blah end result is all the water fell out my engine as soon as i realised my temp guage wasnt working i stopped.
i fixed that problem and no no more water leaks.
however whenever i have my car idling no matter how long its been turned on it stalls in about 2 seconds. i fear the head gasket might of gone, and desperatly hope it hasnt since i dont know if i can spend another week fixing that, there seems to be some oil in the coolant, but non in the oil when i check it. the compressions from the front of the engine to the back are 125 125 125 175
cylinder closest to the driver being 175. as far as i can tell there should be one cylinder that should be far lower?

any and all helpfull advice would be appreciated :)

Yes they do seem odd. I was about to suggest that maybe there was some fluid leakage ( water or oil from a failing head gasket) into the last cylinder that boosted the reading higher than the others, but it seems that its working ok now. Not really an issue until your oil turns to choc-milk, or all your water goes out the exhaust pipe..

Yo I had an idle problem with my stanza, just a little FYI if anyone else is having the same problem. Turned out that a wire on the carby was lose and just needed to be plugged back in.
