Ok I have an easy one for you guys.

Problem/Symptoms:
- Clutch does not engage/disengage when the clutch pedal is depressed.
- Clutch pedal travels to the floor with no resistance.
- Master cylinder reservoir is full – fluid is murky.
- When the clutch pedal is depressed a small amount of fluid squirts out of a small round hole in the master cylinder reservoir cap.

I put a new slave cylinder in not long ago so it is probably not the problem. I think a new master cylinder could be on the cards.

Any thoughts?

Have a look at the slave cylinder. The pin could have popped out?

Murphy's Law states that if a slave cylinder is replaced the master will fail soon after :(

The pin/rod is still in place. I have only had time to give it a quick look over. The autopsy will have to wait until the weekend.

Haha I reckon on got about 6 months out of it so I'm happy with that.

So what's the go with the little round hole in the reservoir cap that spat Dot 3 at me when my mate pumped the clutch pedal?

There should be no fluid path from the cylinder itself to the reservoir when the piston is pushed in due to internal valving.
If the piston is pumping fluid back into the reservoir, then a seal has split allowing internal leakage, hence no activity at the slave.
Depending on the condition of the bore, a rebuild kit may fix the problem.
However, I'm more inclined to replace with a new item.
Replace all the fluid and consider renewing the flexible hose to the slave as well.
At least you then know everything is 100% new.
