Hey guys,

I've been working down my roadworthy list, and I've got "Anti Pollution pipes not connected" on it. I've been trying to work it out, but it's seems different to the diagrams in the workshop manual. I figure it's something to do with this tube that goes to nowhere (in attached picture), but the question is where does it go?

And secondly, does anyone know how much bigger you can go in regards to rims? I wouldn't mind getting some slightly larger ones but I bought some 15" rims when I first got the car a while back and they rubbed against the front struts, or is this all to do with offset?

Cheers guys

If I am correct, that hose comes from the crankcase and should connect to the PCV valve which is screwed into the inlet manifold underneath the carb flange.

It looks like there is a bolt screwed into the threaded hole where the PCV valve should be :?

Hmm that could make sense, it does look like that would be the correct area of PCV valve looking at the diagram. I shall have a closer look.

Alright this is confusing the hell out of me. Here's a picture of that bolt shown in the first pic. This is the region I think pcv pipe should be, instead it has this strange little set up. Any ideas? To me it looks like the hose is just doing a loop back into the same area.

OK, I think I know what is the problem.
Here are a few diagrams and text from the FSM and it shows the crankcase vent hose and the PCV valve connection: -

Now, it appears that the Evaporative Emissions Control System may not be connected properly either so here is a schematic of those connections: -

Thanks very much your help Nissanman. I'll check it all out tonight. As you can tell I'm not overly experienced with all this quite yet. I've been able to work out most stuff but this had me stumped.

BTW that 3 way valve is mounted on the LHS wheel arch I believe, or should be.
