Wanting to stay 14's ATM so steering away from s13 coil overs its a friends.

Can get Monroe gt for $250 front rear and kings for $236 have spare r31 sway bars sitting around

Local parts store has no kyb listing trying to find part numbers ATM

Also have r31 struts and springs and rear Monroe gts n kings from a 31.

Any other cars have interchangeable springs or shocks?

Really not sure on what your wanting to do but as far as lowering on a budget goes mine is pretty good.

I have r31 struts with coilover sleeve kit welded on. Bluebird tops, as r31 are different and r31 brakes as I'm running 13 inch rims. The strut inserts are cheap pedders ones but work fine.
Cost about 300 all up as most bits were found in wreckers etc.

Was just wondering about interchange with other brands off the shelf for cheap/performance.

As in e21 BMWs are 30mm lower if you put super low vs commodore front springs in n also then 300 lbs/inch.

Suzuki sierras with 180b rear shocks n 31 rear springs in the back with 180b rear springs in front is a 3" lift.

If you drop the hell out of the rear of an st141 corona vs commodore rear ute shocks are the go etc.

Not a lot out there. However R31 rear shocks and springs will give you a slightly firmer damping and about 30mm of height taken out. Fronts are virtually the same however you may find with wider wheels or wheels with higher offset that the larger diameter spring may come closer to the rim. All you need to do with the R31 struts (which will also offer a brake upgrade with vented rotors) is to swap the top hats over.

Other option is to get some S13 knuckles, second hand coilovers and ream the steering arm taper to suit the Bluebird tierod end and you can have adjustable ride height all around.

There's a multitude of options, depends on budget of course. I've had lowered springs bought cheap and given to me in the past, and I've passed them on because I couldn't get anyone to buy them. They're out there if you search.

Also, S13 knuckles with CA brakes will just hold a 14" steel rim. So will R31 struts.

Yeah just bolted a front r31 sway bar to the front. Mates bringing my old 31 struts n shocks with kings in it over tonight.

Forgot Ca calipers clear 14's threw my last pair out when I went 4 pot on the 180sx n one of my 31's has sr turbo brakes ATM n 14's won't clear.

Will 31 "low" kings be way to sacked in the rear?

R31 rears on lowered springs. This has IRS on 15" chasers. Its not too bad, better with solid axle as they don't require firmer spring rates.

I'm now setting up another bluey for a mate the one i originally was posted about is running s13 coilover conversion with 31 lcas and 4 pot brakes lol.
Ive already fitted r31 king springs to rear no height drop so shock must be where height difference is.

Having issues finding front strut inserts do any other inserts fit in the legs?
