I've just picked up a sr20 6 speed that couldn't select 5th/6th and reverse.
I just pulled it apart, and it looks like there is no 5th/reverse selector fork?

Here's a couple of pics of where I think the selector fork should be, but there's nothing there?

All there was was a piece of old selector fork in the bottom of the box.

Can't find to much info online, but does it just look like it needs another selector fork on the rod for 5th/reverse gear.
The rest of the box looks good!

Dave fitted a 6speed too his track 1600 a while ago, in his tutorial on here he mentions he got a damaged gear box too dummy fit and play with. He may be worth a try for some parts

This may help !

If you send me your email address, I can send you the entire gearbox section of the repair manual.

EDIT: Nevermind, its not as big as I thought - I've posted it into the Tutrorials, etc section

How's your gearbox handling the conversion and track work Dave?

Gearbox looks really good if I stick my head under the car in the shed. It hasn't moved in 18 months

Need to fix the alternator (it broke last trip to the track), tidy up a few other odds'n'ends, and get my trailer registered once again. Plan is to get it all sorted by Xmas and hit the track again in the new year.

While it was going, the gearbox worked beautifully, much nicer to drive with the closer ratios.

I still have (somewhere) a different 6th gear set for the S15 box to bring it closer to 5th and make 6th more usable in my car. The 1st gearset from Nismo would also be nice.... One day, the plan is to build up my busted 6 speed with the better ratios and see if it all works together (the 6th gearset I have is out of the Toyota version of the gearbox, so I'm hoping it will actually fit in the Nissan version).

There's a few of these conversions around now. My jig has been touring the country and is onto its 5th conversion currently.

I am interested in your Jig, how do I go about hiring/leasing/borrowing it? Text me your number if you like and I will call you back.

How do you remove the s15 bell housing? Looks like whole box needs to come apart.
