Looking good. My brother is spewing, he's painting his 180B SSS the same colour. He thought it would be unique. Engine bay was done at the beginning of the year. Is the colur the Holden blue found on the Commodores? here's a pic of his.

Nice minilites :)

No it isn't a Holden colour, im told it's an original datsun factory colour, not necessarily from a 610 but yeah...

As you can see in my avatar the original car was blue and it's been that way since 1976 :P

Oh did i mention the chassis is all seam welded too?

The only reason the rest of the panels arent on is because we dont want to scratch them farting around setting the rest of the car up. Once the engine etc is all back in then we can put on all the panels.
I did say before that the engine should be "ready in a week". The first delay was a lack of valves in Australia, then the second is alot worse. Our engine builder crashed in a local rally and has been in hospital on life support for over 6 weeks. He was a good bloke too.

The head is now at Stewart Wilkins and the block is at our Datsun gurus shop. Completion time unknown.

Nice one dude. Good to see a full rebuild.
All this talk of rust reminds me of the time i backed into something and the rear end of my 200BSX caved in. :)

Last time i looked at your car it was surposed to be some sort of drift hack. But now your getting fairly serious

Good work.

Sorry bout the delay. Had my head in books last few weeks, gotta finish my course.

Helix, the cage extends to the firewall. Dad wants the front end to crumple in a crash. I know im not planning on crashing it, must be his idea when on a tarmac rally :p

Wak910, Yes the coilovers did get close to bolting in. IIRC they went up into place just fine, but are REALLY short. For circuit or drift you might get away with it, this car is multipurpose tho and they werent suitable in that regard.

Thanks for all the good comments guys here's a few more pics.

Last time I saw the car (Xmas 2010 or thereabouts), it was still slowly progressing.

He hasn't been online for several years, hopefully he randomly decides to come back and replies!

I like the way they say the blue car had too much rust. Going by the pictures we can see it would be considered an excellent base for a 180B SSS in this day and age!
