Mates of mine have had some good luck with the Microtechs but they are known to be a pretty basic sort of ECU. I have been recommended to look into a Motech as an option. A lot of people have had a great deal of luck with them.

That side of things is to sort out later.

RE: Front cover swap, I am buying the donk from a mechanic who gets them bought in for him, I will organize him to open it up and look at the internals and, while it is apart, get him to screw a front cover on it.

So, she finally arrived :) Within an hour, all the stuff inside was removed, the whole car swept inside and out and put on stilts awaiting some measuring.

It is nice to have in her new home.

So, My mate and I got one of those RnP Steering kits from Large Industries.

Pretty happy with how it looks and I imagine I'll be happier still by how it sits and works!!

I've also be doing a bit of research and measuring. I will chuck that up on here while I'm at it now.

I'll keep you'll updated about this steering setup.

This is the scale drawing I did of the engine bay. Is not going to be perfect but it will give me an idea.

You know it's going to be impressive when the turbo is nearly the size of the engine! GTX82? (hahahah)

SR20Datsun:
Borgy EFR 8374 at this stage. Haven't laid out the cash so, might change although, it'd HAVE to be pretty damn special for that to be the case.

Chucked in the rack and just bolted the x-member in at this stage. I put a strut back in too so see where things line up. Just normal.

The steering input is going to create a dilly of a pickle though.

As it sits now, the engine is not going to be mounted centrally :D Cannot be. I will make it work no matter what as I am not attached to keeping the firewall/trans tunnel in one piece. Was never going to happen anyway :D

The next bunch of kit I think I should get is the suspension kit. Get the thing rolling and steering so I can at least get it on and off trailers.

Any boys on here with T3 gear front and rear?? I am looking at the front c/overs, rear c/overs, T/C arms as the main components at this stage. Bump steer and lines and junk as well eventually. I can get the camber adj plates/tops from a few places locally (and the T3 ones done really suit the look I'm going for).

Keen to know how you'd rate their gear - If you went with another brake upgrade, what was it? (front and rear).

Alternatives to T3 - Datsport I know, Maddat I know too. Ermish is there as well... Others that you guys would rate??

I think LAG510 (leigh) on here uses the T3 stuff. Maybe Anth as well?

I see people putting race seats into their cars but, I think they might be a bit wide :( for me anyway (the seat itself I mean).

I have been looking around and I have come across a couple of seats that I think would be awesome in my 510.

Opinions??

As mentioned, the RnP steering went in and some measurements were taken and some heads were scratched... "How the hell am I going to mount This engine in this bloody car!?!?" :D
