Hi all

Did some digging through old posts and came up with this: http://ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f= ... der+mirror

Does that match most peoples thinking? Does anyone have the specific measurements from a factory manual?

Any help appreciated!

There is a bit on info from other forums which I found on google, I think some of the Datsuns had them mounted offset to each other, I'm not sure if its the same as the 1600? I just bought a set of fender mirrors as well.

Let me know how you go are you installing on painted panels?

Yeah we will be. There seems to be some kind of indent underneath the guards that indicates it was put there for the addition of them too, I'll check if the measurements line up to them

I've searched a few times and always seem to find the image eskylid_1600 posted is the one everyone uses. Now all I need to do is actually fit the bloody things!

We've taken a look at it. You can actually line it up with the guard off as there is a very clear indent. To do the job we're going to use a metal punch to avoid drilling. Should get it done this week

One of these things

I wouldn't measure from the front of the guard like that. I have found some early model guards (68 etc) are slightly shorter than later model ones...

When I did mine 5 or so years back I lined them up according to the indent in the rail that the guard bolts to. Super easy if you are prepared to remove the guard or had it off for painting.

In our case the guards aren't on the car so we can be more accurate. Agree I wouldn't go on those measurements alone
